Hi! My name is Kelly! Thank you for taking a moment out of your day to stop by.
I’m a self-employed full time hairstylist but in my spare time I love to create! In one way or another, Art has always been with me. In fact, My Mom used to paint; and when I was growing up she came to my elementary school as a guest speaker for some Art History lessons. I started my own painting journey as an adult. It was something I wanted to do to remember my Mom and feel closer to her. I started out trying to learn watercolor and I was far too impatient for it. I wanted a more instant result in the saturation of color I used, so I tried acrylic and had my a-ha moment. I fell in love with acrylic! However, I still didn’t know what the heck I wanted to do! A friend sent me a video one day of acrylic pour painting and as luck would have it a local shop started having lessons. I was hooked from then on! I began acrylic pour painting like a mad fiend and seeking input everywhere I could. I finally had something that I really enjoyed and people were loving it as well.
In 2020 as the world got dumped onto its head and my salon was closed for 6 weeks I needed to keep busy. I took this opportunity to learn how to make acrylic pour paint jewelry. This was something I had seen done as a great way to use up any extra paint leftover from a painting. How fun! I really enjoy making these pieces and I am thrilled to give you a way to wear art every day. Each piece is like a one of a kind miniature painting. I hope you enjoy wearing it as much as I enjoy making it.
Something that creating art does is allow me to let go of those things that I cannot control. I believe we should all have something like this in our lives! I will say that one thing leads to another when it comes to art and creativity. I started making the pour paintings which lead to the jewelry which also lead to me experimenting with beading as a way to show off my pendants which lead to bracelets and now rings! I'm enjoying learning to wire wrap and hope be offering you a variety of things to show off these one of a kind pieces! The best place to see all this will be in person! If you live in or around Mesa Arizona please check the event calendar frequently. I continue to add jewelry items to the store so check back to see new items as they're added. Please make sure follow me on Facebook and Instagram where you will see some of these things before my shows. I am not accepting commissions for paintings at this time. In regards to acrylic pour paint jewelry, please reach out with any questions. A lot of what I do is one of a kind, but it never hurts to ask! I do not make the settings which means if you see a setting that you like but not in colors that you would like please reach out. I'm excited to bring this selection of one-of-a-kind acrylic pour paint jewelry and fine art reproduction prints to you!
Whether I’m in the salon holding my shears, ready for the next haircut or at home with a paint brush ready for the next painting, creating is my passion!
My inspiration comes from so many things. Honestly, when you start creating you start looking at everything differently. You no longer see just a pretty sunset. You see highs and lows, hues of color, shadows, texture of clouds and the reflection of light on them. A tree is no longer just a tree, it’s many life cycles and changes of season. It changes one’s perspective; it is a great thing.
