I’m a Minnesota native and I relocated to Flagstaff Arizona in 1995 where I pursued my Bachelor’s degree at NAU. After graduation I moved down to the Phoenix area and attended Cosmetology school; I’ve been enjoying the beauty industry for 21 years as of 2021. I suppose you could say it’s a form of art on its own.
A few years back I attempted painting with watercolor and I was far too impatient for it. I wanted a more instant result in the color I used, so I tried acrylic and had my a-ha moment. However, I still didn’t know what the heck to do! A friend sent me a video one day of Pour Painting and as luck would have it a local shop started having lessons. I was hooked from then on! I began Pour Painting like a mad fiend and seeking input everywhere I could. I finally had something that I enjoyed and people were liking it as well. Here’s the problem, I’m way too attached to many of the originals but I still want to share my work with you all. That is why I have started this site to provide you access to Giclee art prints. “What are Giclee prints,” you ask? I’m glad you did! Giclee is a term applied to the standard of reproduction quality. It utilizes more colors of inks than your standard home printer and it is archival quality which means that properly cared for it will last for a lifetime! It is resistant to fading and has amazing depth and clarity.
In an interesting way, pouring has also helped me in my brush work as well. I’m not sure why, I’m just going to roll with it. Painting has really become an important part of my self care and it helps me look at the world differently too.
In 2020 as the world got dumped onto its head and my salon was closed for 6 weeks I needed something to do. I started making Pour Paint jewelry. This was something I had seen done as a great way to use up any extra paint leftover from a painting. How fun! I really enjoy making these pieces and I don’t know why it’s easier to part with but it is. I am thrilled to give you a way to wear art every day. Each piece is like a miniature painting and one of a kind. I hope you enjoy wearing it as much as I enjoyed making it.
